Yoga and Mindfulness in Schools

Picture

Would you like yoga in your school?

Little Earthlings Yoga can plan and deliver unique sessions for pupils aged from 6 weeks to 18 years.

Curriculum Wow Days
Sessions can be organised as a one off enhancement activity or to fit in with a 'wow day' or particular theme; for example Animals Around the World, Into Space,  The Greeks. As an experienced primary teacher, I can plan yoga sessions to fit in with any part of the curriculum or age group, learning through yoga in this way is a wonderful way to appeal to kinaesthetic learners and make learning fun and memorable for everyone.

Well - being Days
Why not show parents how much you care about pupil welfare by booking a Wellbeing Day? All children can experience yoga and mindfulness with the additional options of an assembly for parents, a relaxation session for staff or follow up activities to continue in the classroom. Many schools like to use yoga as part of a health week or mental health awareness day.

Sports Days
Yoga is a fun and healthy activity that can be accessed by everyone in a non- competitive way.  Having yoga as an activity during your school sports day is a wonderful way of demonstrating to pupils that physical health can be achieved in many different ways. Yoga also compliments many sports by enhancing flexibility and strength.

Regular Sessions
As schools are becoming more aware of the positive impact of yoga and mindfulness on children, they are incorporating it into their weekly timetable, for example 'Well-being Wednesday' Little Earthlings Yoga can be booked  for a half term, term  or longer to work with specific classes, year groups or small groups.

Get in touch with me to see how I can help the children in your setting become healthier and happier!

Staff Training
As a Mini Me Yoga Ambassador, I can also train the adults in your setting how to deliver simple yoga sessions, with no experience necessary. This is a very sustainable way of bringing yoga to your school and during the training, staff learn how to use yoga and mindfulness as behaviour management and emotional regulation tools.

Charlie Yr2 had a yoga session at school and couldn't stop talking about it! He told me about going on an adventure around Africa and discovering different animals.
Charlie demonstrated various yoga positions for us and said he loved the session and would like to do it again.
Thank you so much for this wonderful introduction to yoga

James had a yoga session with Julia recently in school as part of the topic "Animals around the World".  He said: "We did animal poses and used some soft toy animals which was fun. Julia was a good teacher who gave good instructions. The yoga made me feel really calm and happy and I would definitely do it again". Thank you Julia for creating such a lovely experience. I'm really pleased that the school gave the children the opportunity to do this.
Yes please, I would love to contact you!
